The property market is thought to be heading for a boom, and the States Statistics Unit say that homes are becoming more affordable as earnings and retail prices see more of a hike than houses.

But buying a home in Jersey will still cost you an average 80 per cent more than it would in the UK, statistics have revealed today.

Buying in Jersey is, on average, more expensive than hunting for a dream home in Greater London, with prices there 25 per cent lower than those in the Island.

House prices in Jersey went up by three per cent last year, leaving the average price of a home at £335,000.
