It replaces its sister ship, Emeraude GB, which was on a year-long charter from UK ferry operator Hoverspeed.
Rather than renewing or replacing it, Emeraude has opted for a new ship which the company says has better access for the disabled, a better café and duty-free facilities and improved boarding for foot passengers.
It has the same 74-car capacity as the Emeraude GB.
