UK resident Jim Stevens decided to celebrate his 60th birthday in the Island, with family and friends made in the 1960s when the camp at Portelet Bay was a major attraction for visitors.
The 30-strong band of revellers who got together on Saturday and Sunday included former camp owner, Joy Oxenden and her son, Jeremy.
Mrs Oxenden, whose father, Nigel, founded the camp, said she was impressed with how fit and well they all looked and how much detail they remembered of the camp and Portelet.
‘It was really good to see them and so many said how working at the camp had changed their lives,’ she said.
