SASO Strategic Advisers continued their dominant form in the Rathbones Island Padel Corporate Leagues last weekend, as they claimed yet another victory.

After congratulating SaSo on their success, Island Padel co-founder Scott Clayton reflected: “It was really nice to see everyone come together again for the finals day after such a testing period.

“We started this league pre-Storm Ciaran, so this has been a long time coming.”

With two divisions, the Rathbones Island Padel Corporate League welcomed 24 teams to their St Clement-based facility.

The elongated Padel campaign culminated in a thrilling finals day, where the top two teams of each group battled it out to be crowned champions.

This time around, the Division 1 final saw defending champions SaSo triumph against IPL’s exclusive sponsor Rathbones, winning 2-1 on rubbers.

En route to the final, SaSo got the better of Fairway Group 2-1, while Rathbones toppled PWC 2-1.

Division 2 culminated with a clash between Standard Bank and Enhance Group.

Despite a dominant 3-0 showing from Standard Bank in their semi-final clash with Canaccord, they could not repeat their success in the final.

Standard Bank ended up succumbing to league débutantes Enhance 2-1 in the final, who proved superior to Carey Olsen in their semi-final, also winning 2-1.

Clayton concluded: “Once again, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rathbones.

“They’ve really believed in our in our vision from the start.

“We felt so supported by them throughout, especially during our recovery from the storm.

“They’ve been absolutely amazing and we look forward to continuing to bring more exciting opportunities to our players in future.”
