A MAN who rode a pregnant heifer at Master Farms has told the farm he “regrets his actions”.
The man apologised after the Grouville farm shared a post of the “unbelievable” incident which was circulating on social media.
Speaking to the JEP, Phil Le Maistre, of Master Farms, said: “We can’t believe that anyone would think doing something like that would be acceptable.”
In an update posted on Monday evening, the farm thanked Islanders for sharing the post and asking how the heifer, May, was doing.
“The vet’s been out today to check her over and she’s all fine along with her baby which is a big relief and the news we were hoping to hear.
“It’s amazing and nice to see the strong community spirit that still exists on our Island.”
They added: “We have found the person responsible who has been in contact with us and the police. They have apologised and regret their actions. They will be paying for the vet bill and also we have asked them to make a donation to a local animal charity.”
