RNLI crews were called out following reports that a boat off Jersey’s south coast was taking on water and was possibly on fire.
Both the all-weather and inshore lifeboats were sent to the scene in Belcroute while those on board the vessel transferred to a nearby boat.
Firefighters checked the vessel, where smoke had been seen in the engine room, and found that there was no fire.
A lifeboat crew then boarded the boat and used a salvage pump before it was towed back to St Helier.
