THE St Helier RNLI crew rescued two people from a broken down boat off Jersey’s north-west coast – and were visited by a pod of dolphins on the way back.
The all-weather lifeboat was called out when the six-metre motorboat suffered technical problems in rough conditions near the Banc des Ormes.
Once on the scene, the crew decided to transfer the pair to the lifeboat as they were cold and seasick.
Two lifeboat crew members boarded the motorboat before it was towed back to St Helier with the dolphin escort.
The following day, the St Catherine inshore lifeboat towed a six-metre boat back into Bouley Bay after it broke down near L’Etacquerel Fort on Jersey’s north coast.
