Princess Anne to visit Jersey in July

THE Princess Royal is to visit the Island next month, it was announced in the States yesterday.

During a one-day visit on 13 July, Princess Anne is due to officially unveil the King’s Arch at Government House.

She will also visit Durrell’s Tortoise Takeover Trail and will be present at the official opening of the new Aldabran Tortoise House at the Zoo.

Princess Anne, the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, has been a patron of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust since 1972, and in 2019 officially opened the butterfly and tortoise house.

The Princess Royal last visited Jersey in June 2021, when she opened the new Les Quennevais School and attended a service in St Saviour’s Parish Church to commemorate the lives of veterans from the Peninsular War and Battle of Waterloo.
