LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Will sale change this business?

SO, LibertyBus is now owned by an Australian company. Of course, they won’t load it up with debt, minimise investment and running costs, while at the same time bidding for taxpayer support, will they? Of course not. Business is known for its concern about supporting communities, even if in this case it is a small community 10,000 miles away.

Closer to home, Jersey Electricity is proposing to put solar panels over farmland to demonstrate their ecological credentials – nothing to do with spending trapped customers’ money on kit, people, promotion and increasing capital value. Of course not. I wonder if they are bidding for taxpayers’ money as well.

A good plan for business is to milk the taxpayer for wind farms next.

Never mind, we have competent, experienced politicians to protect our community from the machinations of business. Or will they get obsessed with projects like the Steam Clock? Mmmmm.
