An orange tide warning is in place as strong southerly winds – blowing up to a force eight – are forecast as the Island begins to feel the affects of Storm Brendan. The high tide on Monday evening is expected to reach 10.9m or 35.7ft and 11.1m or 36.4ft on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson said in a statement: ‘Wind and high tides will lead to waves breaking over sea walls which is expected to cause disruption, with water and debris on roads along Jersey’s south coast on this evening (Monday)’s and tomorrow morning (Tuesday)’s high tides. Some flooding may occur with some coastal roads closed. High tides are at 833pm (10.9m) tonight and 8.48am. (11.1m) tomorrow morning.’
