Bailiff’s message to Harry and Meghan

The couple were due to marry at a ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor at noon.

In the message, Sir William Bailhache said: ‘The Lieutenant-Governor, Bailiff, States and people of Jersey join together to send their warmest congratulations and good wishes to Your Royal Highness and Ms Meghan Markle on the occasion of your marriage on 19 May 2018.

‘The people of Jersey rejoice and celebrate on this very special occasion and take this opportunity to offer their most loyal affections. They pray that you will enjoy together long years of good health and happiness and that the Island may one day be honoured by a visit from you both.’

Monday’s JEP will feature four-pages of pictures from the wedding and local street party celebrations.
