Hazard could stay at Chelsea – even without Champions League football

Eden Hazard insists he could stay at Chelsea next season, even if they do not qualify for the Champions League.

Winger Hazard has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent seasons with Real Madrid a possible destination, but the Belgium international feels he has no need to leave London.

Chelsea are two points behind Tottenham, who occupy the final Champions League place, and three points behind Liverpool who have played a game more than the Blues.

Hazard says he is happy in England and while he wants to play in Europe’s elite club competition, it is not a priority for the 27-year-old.

“I hope (the fans) don’t want to see me leave,” Hazard told French broadcasters SFR Sport.

“I’m doing good things here. I’m happy here.

“Things can move, or they may not move. We’ll see.

“The public adore me, I love my teammates, my family are good here.

“Of course I want to play in the Champions League, but it isn’t a priority.”
