Rugby: Jerseyman Booj back in blue

ONE of the Island’s best rugby exports, Michael Le Bourgeois, could be back playing in Jersey next season … but in a familiar colour of blue rather than red.

The versatile Le Bourgeois, pictured above, has re-signed for Jersey Reds’ Championship rivals Bedford Blues after four seasons at Premiership club Wasps.

The 31-year-old will take on a player-coach role at the club where he enjoyed five seasons, scoring 163 points in 123 appearances, after signing from Jersey in 2013.

‘I am absolutely delighted to be back in Bedford,’ said Le Bourgeois. ‘This is a club which means a lot to me and there’s still a lot of familiar faces around the place from my first spell, which is exciting.’
