Jersey Reds change six for Nottingham trip

The Jersey Reds head coach was left disappointed by Saturday’s display at home to Yorkshire Carnegie, and as he targets a strong finish to the club’s ‘November campaign’ the South African has shuffled his deck.

Number 8 Rory Pitman, injured just 16 minutes after coming on last week, is out after fracturing ribs and bruising a kidney, while Ellis Abrahams and James Voss have both lost their race to shake off knocks.

‘We do enjoy Friday evening games, especially at home when we get the crowd behind us, and hopefully that can continue when we go to Nottingham,’ said Biljon.

‘Even though the game is on 1 December, this game forms part of our November campaign, and we need to make sure we make it a success.’

Uili Kolo’ofa’i – used almost exclusively as an impact player off the bench last season – makes only his fourth league start in 14 months in place of Voss, and stand-off Brendan Cope has shifted to fullback as part of a re-jigged back-line.

Oli Bryant takes the 10 shirt and Auguy Slowik moves to the left wing. Prop Roy Godfrey captains the side, with Jared Saunders and Jake Armstrong alongside him in the front row.
