Norfolk too strong for Jets

With just three games remaining in the 2017/18 campaign both sides were in desperate need of league points at Fort Regent, and with the threat of a trip to the relegation play-offs looming large the visitors opened up a six-point gap above the dreaded dotted line with a 52-38 triumph.

Centre Jacy Brown was named Jets’ player of the match, but her customary dynamism was not enough to prevent their second-heaviest defeat of the season.

‘When we played with confidence and let the ball go it worked really well,’ said Jets head coach Linda Andrews. ‘But when we hesitated and ended up being marked we struggled to make good decisions.

‘We have got to be more consistent. We can’t have two or three passages of play where we’re not executing what we need to. It’s tough, but it’s because of where we’re at and it’s what the game is about.’
