Team Jets fall short
AN electric second-half performance fell agonisingly short for Team Jets yesterday, as they suffered their fifth defeat of the Premier League 3 season.
Trailing Norfolk United by nine goals at half-time, the Islanders roared back to take the lead, 40-39, at the start of the final period. However, their hosts regained their composure and ground out a narrow one-point victory, which moves them six points clear of the two relegation play-off positions.
‘Unfortunately, a lack of composure in pressure situations resulted in passing errors which let us down, giving ball to Norfolk who capitalised on our mistakes,’ said Jets coach Linda Andrews of the closing stages.
Jets remain eighth in the nine-team division.
