STEVENAGE FC are bringing a full-strength squad to Springfield on Saturday, including a number of new signings, for their friendly against Jersey Bulls.

After helping the club avoid relegation from League Two last season, manager Steve Evans has brought in a number of new faces who will become official ‘Boro’ players on Friday.

This weekend’s pre-season friendly – the first of six for the Bulls – marks another special occasion for the Islanders as Stevenage were their first opponents in July 2019, shortly after the club’s formation. In a closely-fought match in front of a crowd of just under 1,000, Jerseyman Kurtis Guthrie scored a late winner for the visitors in a 4-3 thriller. Fraser Barlow had earlier scored the Bulls’ first ever goal to give them an early lead.

Stevenage are due to arrive in Jersey tomorrow and will train at St Peter Football Club on Friday morning.

Saturday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.
