The Championship contenders finished 4-2 to the good in their Food.je JFA Cup quarter-final on Saturday to book a last-four clash with Grouville, having beaten another top-flight side, Rozel Rovers, in the second round.

Darren Coyle and Grant Irvine dropped down from the club’s first XI to help steer the reserves through with a goal apiece, alongside a strike from Hugo Pereira and an own goal. Lucas Parker and Dom Pougeolle scored for St Ouen.

St Paul’s await in the final after beating Wanderers 4-2 in their semi-final (report in Tuesday’s JEP).

Meanwhile, St Brelade took advantage of inactivity elsewhere in the league to climb up to fifth in the Premiership, with Adam Harrison (two), Jordan Le Guyader and Tom Tilstone on target in a 4-2 victory over St Lawrence. Harry Davies and Richard Streets found the net for St Lawrence.

In the Championship, St Clement Reserves made use of Muratti and Jersey Bulls striker Karl Hinds to hold First Tower to a 3-3 draw, after trailing 3-1. Hinds scored a set-piece hat-trick to secure a point for the parish side, including a curling free-kick and two second-half penalties. Tower, who missed the chance to move within two points of the summit with two games in hand, had led through a Luke O’Connor penalty, a Steven Byrne strike and an own goal.

Rozel Rovers Reserves moved level with fourth-placed St Clement thanks to a 2-0 win over leaders St Ouen Reserves, with Stephen Coleman and Alex Thompson on target, while Luke Coutanche scored a hat-trick in Jersey Wanderers Reserves’ 5-1 victory over St Brelade Reserves. George Salaun and Kyle Stratford also scored for Wanderers, with Nathan Davies bagging what turned out to be a consolation for St Brelade.

Grouville Reserves and St John finished level at 0-0.

Division I leaders Sports Club of Jersey and nearest rivals Dragoes de Jersey both extended their advantage over fellow promotion chasers Portuguese United with 1-0 and 2-1 victories, respectively.

Sports Club’s one-goal success over St Paul’s Reserves came thanks to Hugo Vieira, while the ‘Dragons’ registered through Daniel Figueira and Heryck Sousa in a 2-1 triumph over Grouville C, who had Andre Nunes on the scoresheet.

Ross Davison (two) and Stephen Phelan helped St Brelade C to a 3-1 success over Nathan Bizouarn’s Jersey Wanderers C, while Daniel Vincent scored thrice for Sporting Academics Reserves in a 4-3 win over St Ouen C – their second victory in 12 games. Xavior Bosio was also on target for the winning side, with Dylan Barclay, Jay Liron and Dan Seviour scoring for St Ouen.

St John Reserves beat St Clement C 4-3 thanks to goals for Jeremy Johnson (two), Luca Celiberti and Finlay Roberts, with Matt Rawlings (two) and Piers Alexander scoring for the latter.
