All five Jacksons Premiership matches featured at least four conversions, led by an eight-goal clash between Rozel Rovers and St Peter at Le Couvent, while St Clement Reserves came from 4-0 down against St Brelade Reserves to progress into the semi-finals of the Touzel Cup.

In the top flight, the top three all won, with leaders St Paul’s and outside challengers Grouville scoring six and seven without reply, respectively.

St Paul’s boosted their already-superior goal difference thanks to strikes from Jack Cannon, Kieran Lester, Jonny Le Quesne, Joe Kilshaw and a late brace from Ruben Mendes – keeping them above Jersey Wanderers after they beat St Ouen 4-2 at JTC Park (match report in Monday’s JEP).

At Le Boulivot, a Lorne-Bickley led the way for Grouville with a hat-trick against St Lawrence – complimented by goals from Arthur Illingworth, Robert Martins-Figueira, Max Rivers and super-sub Kieren Stephens, who scored with his first touch.

St Peter came from behind to beat Rozel 5-3 in a game which was described as ‘bonkers’ by Saints manager Elliot Powell. Sol Solomon scored the first and last goals for the winning side, alongside singles from Toby Ritzema, Ryan Marcinko and Peter Vincenti. Ethan Boudin, Bradley Russell and Kris McAdam scored for Rozel.

Elsewhere, St Brelade climbed above St Clement and into sixth following a 3-1 home win over Sporting Academics. Francis Lekimamati, Tom Floyd and Bradley Stratford were all on target for the parish outfit, with Jamie Savory scoring what turned out to be a consolation for Accies.

In the Touzel Cup quarter-finals, St Clement Reserves, who were 2-0 down but well on top possession wise, fell further behind before half time after St Brelade Reserves scored on a counter attack. A penalty ten minutes after the resumption made it 4-0, but the game was not over, as St Clement recovered through goals from Connor Maher (two), Scott Laverty and Hugo Da Costa to make it 4-4. A super save from St Clement goalkeeper Sam Creavy was then followed by an 89th-minute winner from Ryan Campos, to set up a last-four clash against either Jersey Wanderers Reserves or St John, who beat first-round opponents St Lawrence Reserves 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Hardisty and Joe Bishop.

St Ouen Reserves booked their place in the semi-finals following goals from Riki Spriggs (two), Ben Cesar and James McMillan in a 4-1 win over Rozel Reserves. They will meet either St Peter Reserves or First Tower, following a 2-1 first-round victory for the latter, in extra-time, over Grouville Reserves.

A 35-yard, 118th-minute bullet on the volley, from centre-back Luke O’Connor, sent Tower into raptures at Les Quennevais, after team-mate Steven Irvine had earlier cancelled out Marco Da Assuncao’s clinical opener with a long-range strike of his own, from 25 yards.

In Division I, Portuguese Utd moved to within a point of leaders Sports Club of Jersey with a game in hand after beating St Brelade C 3-1. Diogo Abelha, Nelson De Castro and Diogo Velosa Ferreira scored for the winning side [St Brelade scorer not submitted].

Sports Club were held to a 1-1 draw by St Ouen C, who registered through new Jersey Bulls coach Dan Seviour, while Dragoes de Jersey beat St Peter C 2-1 thanks to goals from Phil Franca and Leonardo Perestrelo. Stephen McDonald replied.

James Jones scored a hat-trick in St Paul’s Reserves 4-1 win over St John Reserves, with Ricky Figueira also on target, alongside Dylan Buesnel for the parish side.

Trinity O35s reached the final of the Jayson Lee Memorial Trophy following a brace from Valter Fernandes and singles from David Highfield and Archie Irtizaali in a 4-2 win over Grouville, while in the O35 Division Shane Brown, Lawrie Cunningham, Casey Jones and Adam Lescop helped St Martin to a 4-2 win over Beeches, who registered through John Davis (pen) and Steven Mullaney.

St Lawrence beat St John 3-1, with Matthew Godel, Scott Sale and Fernando Teles finding the net for St Lawrence and Stephen O’Brien for the beaten outfit.

And Jersey Reds Athletic continued to rattle Combination clubs with a 12th unbeaten game on the football field. The rugby side, who affiliated with the Jersey FA to maintain fitness through friendlies, beat Sporting Academics Reserves 6-2 at the IJB.

Rozel Rovers reached the final of the Women’s JFA Cup following a 13-0 thumping of Grouville on Sunday. They will meet either St Lawrence or Jersey Wanderers in the final, following a quarter-final victory for the latter over Portuguese Utd. Women’s and junior football reports to follow in the JEP later this week.
