Can you help? Bulls and Lions begin charity charge ‘around the world’

The Channel Islands’ top two football clubs have joined forces to raise money for Jersey and Guernsey’s Covid-19 appeals, with people of all ages and from all sporting backgrounds being encouraged to contribute up to 5km a day to their team’s cause as part of a 40,075km virtual circumnavigation of the globe.

Islanders can run or walk any distance between 1-5km and submit photo evidence via social media, before donating £1 per kilometre covered to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jerseybullsfc or giving.gg [Guernsey].

The race will remain active until Sunday 17 May – the original date of the 2020 Women’s Muratti.

‘We’re just trying to keep up that
Jersey-Guernsey rivalry with all the inter-insulars being cancelled,’

said Jersey Bulls chairman Russell Le Feuvre.

‘Hopefully this will bring the Island together, young and old, and hopefully we’ll get Jersey people living around the world – Dubai, New Zealand, wherever – posting and saying “this is for Jersey”.

‘Whether we get anywhere near the total, we’ll wait and see, but ultimately our aim is for each team to reach their individual targets of 40,075km and therefore raise £40,075 for their respective island.’

All monies raised by each Island will go to their respective Covid-19 appeal, with no administration charges or fees being taken.
