Bulls hold only ‘perfect’ record in English football

In their first season in the English system, the Island club have taken on all comers and have won all 13 league games, plus a cup outing.

Four other sides across the nation have won every league game so far. However, Maldon and Tiptree from Essex, Shepshed Dynamo from Leicestershire and Shropshire’s Shifnal Town have all lost cup clashes.

That leaves Gary Freeman’s charges as the only team – out of 1,049 clubs from the Premier League down to Combined Counties League Division I – to still hold a 100% record.

The Bulls were tipped to succeed in their first season in charge but this has gone above and beyond what those who founded the club expected.

Director Ian Horswell said: ‘We have been looking at it most weeks and monitoring it quite closely.

‘Out of 1,000-odd teams it is nice to be the one who has won every game.

‘When we sat down in the summer it wasn’t even on our minds – you don’t think of records or anything like that.

‘The thing we looked at was promotion and that is what we are aiming for.

‘The players and staff have done a great job so far. With 50-odd games this season the players have a big task, having played all through the summer too.

‘But it is all going well and it is nice to have this record.’
