The Islander – Portsmouth's club captain – climbed the famous steps at the home of football to lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon, after scoring the second of Pompey's spot-kicks.

The League One rivals finished level at 2-2 after extra time, following a 119th-minute equaliser for Sunderland.

The final attracted the second largest crowd in European football over the weekend – beaten only by Barcelona's La Liga match against Espanyol at the Nou Camp.
