Two from two for Jersey

The Islanders beat Germany by five wickets yesterday meaning only an astonishing set of results in the final round of Group B fixtures would deny them their place in the last-four.

Plenty of German players got off to good starts – although none went on to secure a personal half century – as they set Jersey a target of 249 to win.

For the second match in succession Ben Stevens was the pick of the Jersey bowlers, taking two wickets for an extremely economical 35 runs in his ten overs. Germany were bowled out in the 50th over for 248.

In response, Stevens scored 53 runs and Jonty Jenner an excellent 68 not out, including eight 4s and one 6, as Jersey reached their target with 5.2 overs to spare.
