The comprehensive six-wicket win was just the start the Jersey camp will have craved as they hunt a third successive Division 5 crown. Top of Group B on net run rate, the Islanders know a win today over Germany would all-but secure their place in the semi-finals. The Germans edged a thrilling encounter with Ghana yesterday, beating the African nation by just a single wicket.

In Group A, Guernsey suffered a 48-run loss to Italy – pre-tournament favourites alongside Jersey – while Qatar thumped Cayman Islands by 93 runs.
