More inter-island cricket glory for Jersey

Chuggy Perchard’s side required a revised total of 177 runs for victory at the KGV Playing Fields, after the Sarnians were bowled out for 194 on a day hampered by rain.

Jersey’s latest win – with five wickets in hand – makes it ten from ten in all competitions against their nearest rivals.

Captain Perchard said: ‘I actually think we got the better of the conditions to be honest. We lost the toss and Guernsey elected to have a bat on a deteriorating wicket, so it seemed like a good idea at the time, but rain in the interval I think made the ball come on a bit better in the second innings and that really helped our batters.

‘Pretty clinical by our guys overall, so happy to get the job done.

‘It’s always a sweet feeling winning this, particularly away from home.’
