Phillips defends Rosscot title

JERSEY golfers will be out in force over the next three days competing for the Rosscot 72-hole Strokeplay Championship title.

La Moye Golf Club’s Jeremie Phillips will be defending his title and he tees off in the final trio tomorrow afternoon, at 4.20 at Royal Jersey.

A total of 36 have entered this year’s only four-round Jersey Golf Union tournament, which starts at 2.30 with trios starting the first of their three 18-hole rounds at ten-minute intervals.

Phillips overturned a five-shot deficit with a final round score of 73 to win last year, from long-time tournament leader Jo Hacker, also of La Moye.

The second 18 holes will be played on Friday, again from 2.30 pm, with the to 16 players and ties playing the final 36 holes on Saturday.
