Thousands flock to Waterfront for Super League Jersey

The 23-year-old won the Triple Mix format in St Helier, beating series leader Richard Murray into second place. Double Olympic medallist Jonny Brownlee, who had led after two of the three stages had been completed, finished third overall.

Jersey’s Dan Halksworth, a wild card entry who was competing alongside the very best triathletes in the world, performed admirably despite being eliminated after the first stage after finishing more than 90 seconds behind the leader.

Pre-event favourite for many, American Katie Zaferes topped the podium in the first ever women’s Super League format, also a Triple Mix. The 28-year-old appeared comfortable throughout as she beat 35-year-old former Olympic gold medallist Nicola Spirig, who was returning to the sport having given birth just four months ago, into second place. American Summer Cook completed the top three.
