Cricket: Island players come face-to-face

A familar clash for Jersey cricket in recent seasons, but this contest is taking place 8,000 miles from home.

Island players Ben Kynman and Jonty Jenner have spent the last month in South Africa playing in the Western Province Cricket Association Premier League, and the duo are set to come face-to-face for the first time tomorrow.

Fast-bowler Kynman’s Ottomans CC travel to Jenner’s Cape Town for the first day of a two-day match – and the latter can’t wait to square up to his compatriot.

‘It will be great to go up against each other and I’m sure he won’t hold back,’ said Jenner. ‘It’s a great experience for both of us to embrace different wickets and further our skills abroad and to play against each other is a bonus.’
