Netball: Jets running out of time

The result, Jets’ fifth straight away reverse of the season, and eighth loss in total, leaves the Islanders eighth in the table, ten points from safety.

With the outlook appearing fairly bleak, the Jersey girls will now likely have to win all three of their remaining home games, while they may also require their first triumph on the road for over 12 months if they are to finish in the top seven. It appears a particularly daunting task for a team whose last away win came at Thoroughbreds in December 2015, but head coach Linda Andrews says her team must continue to fight.

‘We are at the stage where we need to be implementing skills and tactics learnt at training onto this competitive arena,’ she explained. ‘Hopefully we will have the confidence to push through this in the coming few games.’
