The Island’s elite netballers were beaten 56-37 at undefeated table toppers Team Bath Toucans but Andrews was impressed by the way her girls performed.
Having slipped into a ten-point deficit after the opening quarter, the Islanders rallied in the second period and more than held their own in the build-up to half-time. Toucans then introduced England shooter Sam Cook in the second half and she helped her team maintain their perfect start to the Premier League 2 campaign.
‘It was a good performance overall,’ said Andrews.
‘We were looking at getting a losing bonus point but actually we did much more than that. If we had finished more of our chances it would have been a different game.’
