Cricket: Confident Reds relishing rematch

Following the opening two days of action, Guernsey top the table having won both their fixtures, while Oman and Jersey are also yet to be beaten. The two teams meet at Grainville after their scheduled match was abandoned on Saturday because of the adverse weather.

Jersey had been within touching distance of beating their Middle Eastern opponents when the match was halted, and Nat Watkins believes his team will be in a confident mood ahead of today’s fixture.

‘Now that we’ve played them – and we played much better than them for large periods of the game – I think that definitely helps some of the younger members of our team,’ he said after being named man-of-the-match for his efforts in Jersey’s 102-run win over Vanuatu yesterday.
