Having just missed out on becoming a States Member himself in the October elections, the JSC leader had called for sport to have its own Minister within the new States Assembly.
Although it now looks unlikely his desire will come to fruition before Jersey hosts next summer’s NatWest Island Games, the chairman has branded the latest development as a ‘step in the right direction’.
