ESC have set aside £650,000 to replace the dated synthetic surface with a modern equivalent as part of the department’s capital spending for the next two-year period. It is hoped that the pitch will be relaid this summer, during hockey’s off-season.
With this investment from the States of Jersey, the JHA feels it is the right time to look into the possibility of a clubhouse, complete with changing facilities, restaurant area and licensed bar.
In a ten-page document released to its membership last month, the Association outlined its desire to develop the current stand next to the pitch in St Brelade into the home of Jersey hockey.
