Although they led this British and Irish Cup group match through an early try at Ravenhill, Jersey looked well out of it midway through the second period when they trailed 21-5. But a great effort from the pack led to two penalty tries and a position from where they might well have won the match.
But Jersey, playing in their change strip of blue, ran out of time and had to settle for a losing bonus for getting within seven points of the winning score. That point puts them top of Group 6, though that could change tomorrow when the other two teams in the group, Ayr and Cornish Pirates, meet in Scotland.
Full report in Saturday’s JEP.
