Jersey lose to the Blues
Jersey Rugby Club suffered another away defeat in the Championship today, losing to Bedford Blues.
Despite a late flourish by the Island side, including their one and only try scored by Nicky Griffiths, they were beaten 38-21 by a stronger side.
Losing 9-14 at half-time, Jersey found themselves 9-19 down in the second half before they seemed to come alive, with the try and extra points boosting hopes that they could claw their way back.
The last ten minutes saw Bedford rally again, however, and with two more tries to their name, the match result was put in no doubt.
Guy Thompson scored a second try for Jersey in stoppage time, but it was too late to make any difference to the outcome.
