Bermuda spiked

The 2013 Games are to be held in Bermuda which has caused a number of financial difficulties for some of the Island’s sports teams.

The cost is likely to far exceed £2,000 per person, prompting both the basketball and football teams to withdraw.

The athletics team, a regular source of Island Games silverware, is also likely to be hit hard. A drastic reduction in team size is expected, although exact numbers are yet to be confirmed.
