This man saved a possum from two predatory crows and is receiving a lot of love

A Sydney man is receiving a tonne of praise after saving a possum from near death.

Laurence Kirk was travelling through Menai, New South Wales, when he spotted what experts believe was possibly an adult ring tail possum being stalked by two crows.

While most people drove on the 28-year-old exited his car, shooed the crows away and gave the possum a leg-up.

Most people seem to think the possum fell from the tree into the road, where the crows thought they’d spotted an easy meal.

“Crows in Australia are known to be quite smart, and a few of us have talked about that the crows purposely got it onto the road for a car to run it over and make it an easy meal,” Laurence suggested.

As for his kindness, the mineral processing technician doesn’t see what he did as “that big of a deal” – “but I guess it was a good ‘feel-good’ video to kick off the week”, he said.
