Charles chooses five titles for Camilla’s book club

The Prince of Wales has chosen an eclectic selection of titles, from a love letter to Romania to a tome about Napoleon, for the Duchess of Cornwall’s book club.

From Monday a book a day will be featured on Camilla’s Reading Room site on Instagram, with an explanation from Charles about why the five are significant to him.

He picked Along The Enchanted Way by his friend William Blacker, a writer and architectural conservationist who lives in Romania.

Charles has regularly holidayed in Romania and has bought a property there.

Another title is the wartime saga The Battle Of The Atlantic by Charles’ official biographer Jonathan Dimbleby.

Charles also chose Lustrum, the second book of Robert Harris’s Cicero trilogy about the machinations of leading figures from imperial Rome.

Adam Zamoyski’s tome Napoleon: The Man Behind The Myth, is Charles’ fourth choice, and Travels With Myself And Another – Five Journeys From Hell, is Martha Gellhorn’s darkly funny tales of her often disastrous trips around the world.

Camilla launched her Reading Room on Instagram in January to encourage book fans of all ages to discover new writers and create a hub where literary communities across the globe can connect.
