Eugenie and Jack share kisses after royal wedding ceremony

Royal bride Princess Eugenie shared two shy kisses with her new husband Jack Brooksbank after their lavish royal wedding ceremony.

On the West Steps of St George’s Chapel, newlyweds Eugenie and Jack beamed with delight and waved to onlookers.

After their afternoon reception in Windsor Castle, Jack drove Eugenie away in a silver DB10 Aston Martin sports car.

They were heading to the York family home Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park for the evening celebrations.

Watching in the historic 15th-century chapel of the castle were the monarch, the Duke of Edinburgh, and more than 40 members of the royal family including the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Blustery conditions led to some guests losing their hats as they arrived.

Eugenie’s sophisticated dress, which featured wide fold-over shoulders, a low back and full-flowing train, was by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.

The low-back feature was specifically requested by Eugenie, who has scars after surgery when she was 12 to correct scoliosis.

Bridesmaid Princess Charlotte took a tumble as she arrived before the ceremony.

Charlotte was not the only member of the young bridal party to struggle with the steps.

Page boy Louis de Givenchy also stumbled as he entered the church.

The gaggle of youngsters in the bridal party had a few minutes to wait before the bride arrived, and were kept in check by the Cambridges’ nanny.

Meghan, dressed in a navy dress and coat by her wedding dress designer Givenchy, and Harry were returning to the chapel just five months after they pledged their love for one another in the same Windsor Castle venue.

Eugenie and Jack left the chapel in the covered horse-drawn Scottish State Coach for their short carriage ride through the town.

Well-wishers gathered on Windsor High Street to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds.

But Caroline Lewis, 50, from Cardiff, expressed disappointment she did not see any other royals.

“I did think they might have followed her around the block or something,” she said.

Mother of the bride Sarah, Duchess of York, in a vibrant green outfit, was seated in the row in front of her former father-in-law the Duke of Edinburgh.

Maid of honour Princess Beatrice delivered a reading from F Scott Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby, with some on social media questioning the use of the excerpt from the tragic tale about conman Jay Gatsby.
