The lucky winner will have the opportunity to enjoy owning one of these versatile lifestyle vehicles, worth in the region of £50,000.
The van will be on display at Motor Mall’s site in the People’s Park at the festival this weekend, where 5,000 tickets will be available for purchase. Further tickets will be on sale at various pop-up locations around St Helier in the coming months.
The tickets are priced £20. Second prize is £1,000 and third prize is £500.
The proceeds of the competition will go towards the Les Amis charity, which helps those with learning disabilities and/or associated conditions to reach their full potential. Fundraising through competitions such as this helps these Islanders to live independent lives and to be treated as equals within the community.
Jason Loveless, head of support services at Les Amis, said: ‘This is by far the largest competition we have ever run and it wouldn’t be possible without the kind support of Jacksons and Motor Mall. At Les Amis, we have focused this year on building and nurturing our partnerships with different organisations, because as a small community we believe we can achieve more together than apart. We anticipate this competition will be very popular, so would encourage everyone to get their tickets as early as possible.’
The giveaway has been supported by Jacksons and Motor Mall, who sourced the camper van for Les Amis at cost price and who will host the drawing of the competition at an event at Jacksons’ showroom on 29 November.
Motor Mall general manager Neil Wiseman commented: ‘We are always looking for opportunities to help local charities and organisations and have a long-standing relationship with Les Amis, from providing them with various vehicles over the years. Being involved with this competition is a great chance to further support all the good work Les Amis do in the Island and hopefully make a real difference through the money that we raise.’
