This year’s event features four days of motorsport, with kart racing on Thursday, the Moonlight Sprints on Friday and two hill climbs – up Westmount on Saturday and Mount Bingham on Sunday.

There is also a full programme of events for touring cars and motorcycles and the largest static motor show in the Channel Islands, featuring motor and ancillary trade stands and exhibits from all Jersey motoring clubs.

The essence of the weekend is to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and provide opportunities for car and motorcycle enthusiasts to use and display their ‘pride and joy’ whether this be a veteran, vintage or classic, touring or competition car or motorcycle.

The event is run by the Classic & Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey and is open to participants in two main ways. The touring section is open to all cars and motorcycles and offers a number of scenic drives and events.

The sprint and hill climbs offer the chance to put a classic vehicle through its paces. Cars manufactured prior to 1978 are eligible, along with motorcycles prior to 1980.

On Sunday the Active Arena around Victoria Park is always a popular attraction, with a varied schedule of demonstrations of different forms of motorsport.

The Island’s leading car dealerships will be showcasing their latest vehicles on the trade stands, while all the Island’s enthusiast clubs will be represented in the static displays on Saturday and Sunday.

Classic & Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey president Neil Wakeling said: ‘For visitors and locals alike, this event is a great opportunity to get close and personal with classic car and bike racing. Our club members plan to have a great weekend competing and helping out and are always happy to talk about their cars and motorcycles.’

Nicolas de Breyne, managing director of title sponsors RUBiS Channel Islands, added: ‘RUBiS is once again proud to be supporting what is without doubt the Channel Islands’ largest motoring event. It not only gets bigger every year, it gets better, too.

‘The scale and variety of the programme of events is unparalleled, while the wealth of entertainment away from the vehicles means there really is something for everyone. A fun-filled weekend for all the family.’
