Featuring 1,856 litres of load space, which replaces the second and third row seats found in conventional models, the vehicle is aimed at commercial drivers who still want ‘premium levels of comfort and entertainment’, the brand says.

The new Discovery Commercial is available as S, SE and HSE models with either a 2.0-litre, 237 bhp SD4 or 3.0-litre, 254 bhp TD6 engine. All models are fitted with four-wheel drive, automatic transmission, twin-speed transfer box, air suspension and a full-size spare wheel. The InControl Touch Pro multimedia system also comes fitted as standard.

Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director, said: ‘Discovery Commercial has always been a key part of the Discovery line-up since the Discovery 1, but the latest version brings new levels of practicality, versatility and premium levels of comfort that showcase the vehicle’s hard-working DNA.’

The new Discovery comes with Land Rover’s unique Terrain Response technology, which optimises the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, centre differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the environment. The optional Terrain Response 2 pack enhances this even further by monitoring driving conditions and automatically selecting driving modes.

And for those who want both the capabilities of the commercial version, coupled with the style of the Discovery, rear window concealment panels are masked by privacy glass to give it the look of a normal vehicle.

A host of technological features and driver aids can also be found in the new Discovery. Cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, heated windscreen and rear window, heated door mirrors, DAB radio, hill launch assist, hill descent control and trailer stability assist are all included as standard.
