WIN one of three bicycle locks from The Cog and Sprocket
IF you are one of the increasing numbers of people turning to two-wheeled transport, the one thing you want to avoid is having your bike stolen.
What is a bike without tyres? This rubber bit that wraps around your wheels give comfort when riding through common roads, to provide grip when cornering and to reduce rolling resistance so you can push forward using less effort. What started as a metal strip around the outside of the wooden wheel took nearly half a century to evolve into what we know today as the pneumatic tyre, developed by two great Scotsmen, Robert William Thomson and John Boyd Dunlop.
With plenty of stunning nature routes on your front doorstep, and a great way to get fit and healthy with the family, The Cog and Sprocket are encouraging families to get out and explore our beautiful Island this summer on two wheels. Situated on Queen Street, the shop is the Island’s largest bike shop and have every aspect of cycling covered, from bikes to parts and accessories.
