Social media marketing course relaunched

The scheme is designed to help Islanders develop social media skills and boost the online profile of their business, with two separate courses being launched.

Both level one and level two feature:

lA one-to-one session with a trainer to evaluate the delegate’s understanding and the use of social media within their business.

lSix group workshops.

lAn additional one-to-one session mid-course to ensure delegates can implement what they are learning.

The social media and marketing level one programme is due to focus on the techniques and skills businesses need to develop content and page designs for social media platforms.

Meanwhile, at level two students will be taught how to maximise their sales via online platforms.

Lorie Rault, head of retail from Jersey Business, said: ‘Effective use of social media can help you connect with your customers, increase awareness of your brand and boost your leads and sales.

‘Delivered by Chris Morris of Interval, and subsidised by Skills Jersey, our social media marketing programme focuses on the critical social media skills needed to improve your business’s overall online presence.

‘It will help you save time, be more effective and give you the tools to plan, create and manage social media content with purpose. Now is the time to build your confidence, digital skills and create the social media strategy you need to help your business succeed.’

Eunice Pallot, a freelance writer who now works for the Jersey Fine Tea company, said that the course helps businesspeople get a handle on social media.

‘Generally without a clear strategy social media can be quite overwhelming,’ she said.

‘What this course does is give you a roadmap that helps you produce content for your customers. Chris is a master of digital media and a warm and personable teacher.’

Mr Morris has more than 20 years experience in digital marketing. Businesses wishing to register interest in either of the two courses can do so online at jerseybusiness.je.
