Win for Jersey’s finance industry

JERSEY has been named the ‘Best International Finance Centre’ at the International Investment Awards.

Now in their 20th year, the awards recognise the talent, excellence and expertise across the international wealth, asset management, investment and financial advisory sectors.

Digital excellence

JERSEY TechAwards 2019 saw the cream of the Island’s digital community being celebrated for their excellence and success. There were 93 nominees and 12 awards. The event was organised by Digital Jersey, sponsored by Prosperity 24-7 and supported by BCS Jersey.

Digital Company of the Year: Snap Design and Digital

Digital Start-up of the Year: MyVLF

Digital Team of the Year: Pinpoint

Security Implementation of the Year: Yoti

Technology Project of the Year: Corefocus – JOIC Operational Reorganisation Project

Digital Creative Project of the Year: MyVLF

Best Use of Technology in Education: Beaulieu Convent School

Technology Teacher of the Year: Stephen McAllister

Technology Student of the Year Senior: Anca Toma

Technology Student of the Year Junior: Ethan Double

Sure Customer Service Awards

THE Sure Customer Service Awards recognised those businesses which are committed to delivering excellent customer care in the Island. Overall winner was New Era Medical, while a special recognition award went to Maison des Landes Hotel.

The Outstanding Contribution to Service award went to Dolan Hotels.

Jersey Hospitality Awards

THE inaugural ‘H-oscars’ for unsung heroes of hospitality were awarded by the Jersey Hospitality Association.

Love Wine Career Achievement Award: Maria Ivone de Brito, head housekeeper, Mayfair Hotel

Visit Jersey Island Ambassador Award: Patrick Burke, the Atlantic Hotel

Easenmyne Student of the Year: Morgan Gilby, day porter at Grand Jersey

Condor Ferries Green Award: Seymour Hotels

Other award wins for Jersey businesses…

JTC was crowned ‘Trust Company of the Year (large firm)’ and R&H was named ‘Trust Company of the Year (midsize firm) at the STEP Private Client Awards 2019 in London. The prestigious competition is designed to highlight excellence among private-client lawyers, accountants, bankers, trust managers and financial advisers.

Elsewhere, Aztec Group was named Fund Administrator of the Year for the fifth successive year at the British Private Equity Awards. Hosted by Unquote, the British Private Equity Awards celebrates innovation and excellence in private equity and venture capital, and the industry’s contribution to British business growth. Now in its 15th year, the awards were attended by over 350 fund managers, advisers and other industry professionals.
