MasonBreese and University College Jersey reveal partnership

Over the next 12 months, MasonBreese will be the lead sponsor of UCJ, providing support to the higher education institution and its students. The new partnership will enable UCJ to improve its image through a number of high-profile initiatives and promotional activity. That will include the UCJ Graduation Ceremony, which is set to take place on Friday 14 September to celebrate UCJ’s class of 2018 graduates.

The sponsorship will also enable the funding of a programme of extracurricular activity, to benefit the lives of UCJ students, whilst raising the awareness of UCJ in the Island’s community.

A young team of UCJ ambassadors will help organise the programme, which will focus on events-led initiatives such as sporting/recreational activities, volunteering, and providing platforms for students to network in the business community.

Vernon Breese, Director of MasonBreese, said that the MasonBreese Change Academy for graduates and the work of UCJ were so closely related, that a relationship may have been inevitable.

‘But we are delighted it has come for us at so timely a point in our growing business,’ he said.

‘The value in working together to help young graduates fashion a pathway into an industry and support UCJ with its broader ambitions is a privilege as well as a welcome opportunity for us all. We view this new partnership between MasonBreese and UCJ as a significant investment in terms of time and commitment and we seek to make the very most of it together.’

Mr Breese said this year promises to be an exciting new year of development for both organisations and they have already identified some interesting new ways to change the landscape for the better.

Steve Lewis, principal of Highlands College, said he was delighted with the sponsorship and the two organisations will be working closely together to improve the profile of UCJ and Highlands College as a whole.

‘As well as sponsoring many worthwhile projects, MasonBreese are keen to take an active role within our college and support our students with work experience and job opportunities.’

Part of the sponsorship from MasonBreese will be used to fund the materials required to run a 6th Form cross-college Student Ambassador Programme. UCJ already has 200 full and part-time students studying degree level courses.
