£249m profit for RBS International

Despite the main partly nationalised group posting losses of £5.2 billion for 2012, RBS International made profits of £249 million.

RBSI includes the operations in Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar and employs about 1,500 staff in the four jurisdictions.

RBSI chief executive Adrian Gill said the business produced strong and stable profits in 2012 despite the difficult markets conditions in which all businesses are operating.
