THE chief executive of the company which provides Jersey’s gas supply has left her post after three years.
Islands Energy Group confirmed this morning that Jo Cox had left her role with immediate effect, with Aidan Baglow, formerly managing director of Manx Gas in the Isle of Man, becoming interim chief executive.
Jersey’s gas supplier faced controversy after an outage left customers without gas in October 2023, with some customers having no supply for up to two weeks and an ongoing legal battle to obtain compensation beyond a token £11.56 payment offered by the company.
Ms Cox was in charge of the company at the time of the Pier Road explosion, which claimed the lives of ten Islanders in December 2022. An investigation into the cause of the blast continues.
