New Channel 5 series shows best of Jersey and Guernsey

THE lives of some of the Channel Islands’ ‘most colourful residents’ will be explored in a new TV show narrated by Alan Titchmarsh launching next week.

Jersey & Guernsey is a new show produced by UK television company Daisy Beck studios that will air on Channel 5.

Daisy Beck are the producers of well-known series such as The Highland Vet, The Yorkshire Vet, Our Great Yorkshire Life and On the Farm.

The show will feature appearances from eighth generation Jersey farmer Phil Le Maistre, makers of La Robeline Cider Richard and Sarah Matlock, ceramicist Claire Haithwaite, as well as the Sprouts Farm Club team and JerseyTea Company.

The operator of Guernsey’s Petit Train, Andy Furniss, is also set to make an appearance, as is Lord of the Manor Peter de Sausmarez.

The work of Guernsey’s animal rescue charity, the GSPCA, is also included.

The La Robeline duo said that ‘the sun shone’ during filming, ‘so hopefully our beautiful island looks as glorious as she is and entices lots of people to book to come and experience our unique and lovely way of life for themselves for a few days’.

Jersey & Guernsey will be on Channel 5 every Thursday at 8pm, starting on 15 June.
