PLANS to build a three-bedroom house in part of a car park opposite Pizza Express in St Brelade have been lodged.

Applicant Ross Young said that the car park would remain, although the total number of spaces available to Pizza Express would reduce from 15 to 12.

Currently the site is classed as ‘developed land’.

In a planning application, Mr Young wrote: ‘The proposal is to demolish the existing outbuildings and relocate the existing vehicular access slightly to the west.

‘The new proposal is for a 1.5-storey three-bed residential unit with a

sunken lower ground floor and contemporary flat roof.’

Secure bike-storage racks and electric charging points will be incorporated into the development of the site, if plans are approved.

Mr Young added: ‘It is proposed to incorporate secure bicycle storage racks for up to eight bicycles for use by both staff and patrons.

‘The site location offers ample parking, providing 384 spaces within the immediate area. It offers excellent walking and cycling opportunities as well as easy access to regular bus routes Numbers 12 and 14.’
